Embarking on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth through counselling is a profound and courageous decision. As a Registered Psychologist with over 25 years of counselling experience in community, mental health, and forensic settings, I bring a wealth of expertise grounded in a deep understanding of psychology.
My approach emphasizes empathy, active listening, and authentic connection, recognizing the transformative power of self-awareness and resilience. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to empower individuals in navigating life’s challenges.
In my telehealth practice, I create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions, gain insights into their situations and behaviours, and develop personalized coping strategies. Conducting sessions entirely online provides flexibility and discretion, allowing clients to choose a comfortable setting for their sessions.
Committed to ongoing professional development, I stay abreast of the latest advancements in psychology to deliver comprehensive and effective support. Choosing to work with me means selecting a dedicated ally on your path to healing, self-acceptance, and personal fulfillment.
Your well-being is my priority, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
I commenced my counselling career as a regional drug and alcohol specialist working with young offenders across the New England Tablelands in NSW. I developed a love for complexity and took my counselling experience into adult correctional environments to eventually work for many years as a drug and alcohol specialist, psychologist and behaviour management specialist in minimum, medium and maximum correctional environments with both men and women serving a range of custodial sentences. Over the years I began to strengthen my skills and focus on working therapeutically with behaviours of serious violence. From this microenvironment I moved into community-based inpatient mental health services in the Central West of NSW before finally taking the leap into private practice in 2014.
Over my counselling career, I have worked with a truly diverse range of clients and have developed an approach to therapy which is highly personalised, and I believe the secret of my success as a counsellor lies in recognizing that each person and the challenges they face are unique. I don’t rely on a “one size fits all” method in Psychology. Instead, I take the time to truly understand you and tailor your therapy accordingly to give you the very best outcome.
